Are rabbits rodent?


Contrary to popular belief, rabbits are not rodents, like rats or mice; they are Largomorphs. Rabbits are usually more closely related to horses than they are to a rat or a mouse. Although once included in the mammalian order Rodentia, rabbits were reclassified in the mid 1900 and put into the order Langomorpha.
